What are CEREC same-day crowns?
Traditionally, crowns are crafted at an off-site laboratory using wax-based impressions and pictures of your teeth. This method requires two office visits over the course of two to three weeks. With our innovative CEREC technology, Dr. Rink can fabricate and place a crown in a single, easy appointment.
During this procedure, Dr. Rink will take digital images of your treated tooth. These images are then transmitted directly into a chairside computer that uses sophisticated software to create a detailed, three-dimensional map of your tooth.
This information is used to guide the milling machine, which will use diamond-tipped tools to create the crown from a single block of porcelain.
This technology can fabricate top-quality crowns that restore your oral function, match the shade and contours of your surrounding teeth, and complement your facial features. The entire process takes about an hour. While you wait, you can simply relax in our office. When the crown is ready, Dr. Rink will ensure it fits properly, and then attach it securely to your tooth. At this time, he can make any fine adjustments needed to achieve a balanced and comfortable bite.
