I had veneers done overseas back in February, and it was a nightmare. I ended up with constant, excruciating pain because the procedure wasn’t done properly - my teeth weren’t sealed right, my bite was off, and the work was too close to my roots, leading to multiple root canals. What Is In-Office Teeth Whitening in Charleston?

Our Charleston cosmetic dentistry office, serving Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, and nearby areas, uses KöR Ultra to provide dramatic results in about two hours. This type of teeth whitening relies on a powerful whitening gel to eliminate very deep dental stains.

First, a special guard is placed in the mouth to isolate the teeth and protect the soft tissues. Next, a hydrogen peroxide-based gel is applied to the teeth. After about 15 minutes, the gel is removed, and a new coat of gel is applied. This process is repeated a total of three times. Finally, you will leave our office with a dazzling smile that will continue to lighten over the next couple of days.

The trays are prefilled with a professional-strength whitening solution of hydrogen peroxide. The ultra-fit tray easily conforms to any smile and is ready to use right out of the box. It’s fast, simple, and effective. This is excellent for the person on the go who wants a little boost to get to a more confident smile quickly and easily. The duration of your treatment and the frequency with which you apply the whitening agent will depend on the severity of your dental discoloration and the level of brightness you wish to achieve.

How Can I Maintain My Results?

KöR teeth whitening can produce incredible long-term effects, which you can maximize by taking measures to avoid staining your teeth. For the first twenty-four hours after treatment, you should avoid dark soda, berries, red wine, mustard, coffee, and other foods that can stain your teeth. Refraining from tobacco use is also always highly recommended.

If you return to drinking tea and coffee, try to use a straw. If you enjoy red wine, don't immediately run for your toothbrush – the acidic wine can temporarily weaken tooth enamel, and brushing may cause more harm than good at that point. Instead, try chasing your wine with some soda water or a piece of broccoli, which provides your teeth with a natural and very gentle scrubbing. As always, regular brushing and flossing can also go a long way toward helping you maintain white teeth.
